Night Shift
FrameAI can run heavy model updates and calculation re-checks overnight — so when you arrive at your desk in the morning, your updated reports and exports are ready, waiting.
Before you start

Step 1 — Open your model in Studio
frameai-structural.polsia.app and open your model in Studio.
Click the **Night Shift** toggle (moon icon) in the toolbar.
Step 2 — Set the start time
Choose a time when your model is stable and no one is working on it. FrameAI will only start processing once the model has been idle for 10 minutes past your scheduled time — this prevents it from picking up in-progress edits.
Step 3 — Choose what to run
Select one of:
- **Full Eurocode recheck** — re-runs section class, buckling, connection, and foundation checks against the latest model. Best for overnight model update cycles.
- **Delta report only** — compares the new model against the previous revision and summarises what changed. Faster than a full recheck.
- **IFC re-export only** — re-exports an updated IFC 4 BIM model from the new geometry. Best when your downstream team needs current geometry.
Step 4 — Set notification
Choose how you want to be told when Night Shift completes:
- **Email** — sends a digest to your registered address with a summary of results
- **Slack** — posts a summary to your connected Slack channel (requires /settings/integrations setup)
- **None** — results are queued in Studio but no notification is sent
Step 5 — Schedule
Click **Schedule**. FrameAI queues your job and shows the confirmation screen.
Step 6 — Wait
Go to sleep. FrameAI picks up the model once it stabilises and runs your chosen workload. Results land in your inbox or Studio by morning.
What you should see
A Night Shift confirmation screen showing:
- Next scheduled run time (with timezone)
- Summary of what will run (e.g., "Full Eurocode recheck — 47 members")
- Estimated completion window
- Option to cancel or edit before the run starts
Common problems
**Night Shift toggle not appearing**Requires Starter plan or higher. Free tier is on-demand only — schedule is disabled. Upgrade at /settings/billing.
**Model changes mid-shift**If someone edits the model while Night Shift is running, the job pauses and restarts automatically once the model stabilises. Your original schedule is preserved.
**No email received**Check
/settings/notifications — Night Shift completion emails can be disabled there independently of other notification settings.
**Results look stale**Night Shift uses the model state at the time you scheduled it. If structural changes were made after scheduling but before the run started, those changes are picked up. If changes were made
*after* the run started, re-run manually.
