How it works

PDF in. Fabrication drawings out.
Four steps, no detailer.

FrameAI is a pipeline, not a tool. You drop a structural steel drawing PDF at one end. At the other end you get Eurocode-validated fabrication drawings, a BIM model, and CNC files — while you sleep. Here is exactly what happens inside.

01

Upload your structural steel PDF

Drop any PDF with structural steel content — general arrangement drawings, fabrication specs, or scanned engineer's sketches. Multi-page PDFs work. The file lands in Polsia R2 storage. FrameAI queues the job and begins processing immediately. No waiting, no form-filling, no manual data entry.

Accepted: GA drawings · Steel section schedules · Scanned sketches (300 dpi or better)
Limit: 50 MB · Multi-page: yes · Batch: yes (up to 20 PDFs at once)
R2 Upload Batch support

GPT-4o vision reads every page

Each page is rendered at high resolution and sent to GPT-4o vision. The model reads beam and column designations (e.g. IPE 270, HEA 300), material grades (S275, S355), span lengths, connection geometry, and bolt patterns — returning structured JSON. It handles hand-annotated sketches, rotated text, and mixed projection conventions. If it sees something ambiguous, it flags it rather than guessing.

Extracts: section profile · material grade · span length · connection type · bolt spec
Handles: orthographic drawings · isometric sketches · multi-view sheets · rotated annotations

Eurocode calcs run automatically

Extracted members are validated against the relevant Eurocode standards in one pass. No spreadsheets. No manual input. Everything runs server-side in seconds. Results include pass/fail status, governing utilisation ratios, and the exact clause reference that drove the check — so you can hand-sign the output.

EN 1993-1-1 §5.5 section class · §6.2 moment + shear capacity · §6.3 buckling

Fabrication-ready outputs land in your dashboard

When the calcs pass, FrameAI generates every output a fabrication shop needs — in one pass, with no human in the loop. Every file is linked in your jobs dashboard. Pro and Studio accounts can export all formats; the free tier includes the fabrication PDF and DXF.

Fabrication PDF DXF R12 IFC 4 BIM BOM Excel DSTV NC1
Fabrication PDF
Part marks, weld symbols, and dimensions on every member. Print-ready A3 or A1.
DXF R12 Shop Drawings
Open in AutoCAD, BricsCAD, or any CAD tool. One DXF per member, named by part mark.
